Today was about tying up loose ends. We hiked the trails that were accessible so we took the car and explored the Rim of the
World Road. This is a windy, curvy, twisting road that runs along the ridge of the mountains. It alternates between road that clings to the mountain and
road that is hidden in thick dense trees.
We discovered that most of the activity is in Big
Bear, so we headed back to take some pictures and
reminisce about the trip.
Favorite Hike: Cougar Crest/Bertha; Ryan Mountain; Castle Rock; 49 Palms; Lost Horse Mine; Barkers Dam; Pine Knoll; Woodland Trail.
The cities of Twin Peaks and Cactus Flats really exist.
The roads should have signs for the straight parts of the roads.
Favorite Restaurants: The Himalayan; Sweet Basil; El Jacalito; Peppercorn; Pong's |
