| Day 1: January 22, 2005 - Cincinnati to St. John |

It was an early morning
departure from Cincinnati. We were both groggy because
we had been up late trying to fix issues with the
referee system we are working on. Anyway, there
was a winter storm warning and we drove to the airport
in a combination of sleet and hail.
The airport was crowded at check in but once we
got through it was quick. No lines at security (just
the usual strip down) and the plane even left on
time. We were a little concerned since it felt like
forever before we were de-iced. We went off and
1:05 later, we were in Atlanta. They changed the
arrival gate so we were right across from the departure
gate to St. Thomas.
Again, no problems on the flight and we arrived
in St. Thomas 30 minutes early. We checked in at
the airport for the Westin and were taken to the
ferry terminal. The boat ride was uneventful. We
were just annoyed that we had to take seats in the
cabin because a tour group fixed it so that they
got on the boat first.
It's a huge property and there are golf carts to
take you everywhere. We got to our room, showered
and had dinner. Thus ended day 1. |
