| Day 1: October 21, 2006 - Cincinnati to St. John |

Travel to St. John was generally uneventful. No missed flights meant that we arrived around 1:30pm. We has decided
to rent a car this time and Budget provided us with a Ford Focus that had seen better days with only 9100 miles on it. We proceeded to the car
ferry dock at Red Hook to St. John.
The dock area had everyone pushed down towards the edge of the dock. The ferry "Mister B" pulled in and off-loaded a few cars but mostly
trucks. Even one towing an excavator. Chaos ensued as everyone on the dock had to shuffle around so that there was enough room to get the excavator
off. Then we all tried to back our cars onto the barge at once. Everyone made it on, and we were on our way to St. John.
We arrived and checked into the Westin. After a quick dip, we unpacked and had some dinner at the hotel. Exhausted from a 4am wakeup and the day of
travel, we crashed. |
