Howard began the day with two dives while Kirsten did some kayaking in the bay. Howard's dives were okay - the first
one didn't go well, but he rebounded for the second.
After lunch, we hid from the sun again. We planner an afternoon excursion to Maho Bay. It was quite a drive to get there and the Ford Focus
overheated. We had to turn off the air conditioning and let it cool off for a minute before continuing on.
At Maho Bay, we parked at the camps and would our
way down multiple hundreds of stairs until we reached
the beach. It was practically deserted. We made
our way towards some rocks at the end of the beach
and waded in there for some snorkeling. We saw lots
of great behaviors, mostly feeding. At one point
there was a huge clump of bait fish being herded
into a ball and then 3 large tarpons sprung out
of the murk and gave us quite a surprise. On the
way back, the mosquitoes feasted on us!
Dinner: Lime Inn; Howard - Chicken Picata, Kirsten - Seafood Scampi, Dessert - Apple crumble with ice cream |
