| We settled
into our normal pattern. Howard woke up
and got himself down to the dock to go diving
while Kirsten found a warm sunny spot to
read.
The dives were good, the
visibility was not. The sites are still
murky from the hurricane that came through
last week. On the first dive, the dive master
gave the sign for a turtle and pointed,
I looked and all I could see was two large
heads of hard coral. Then one of the heads
moved! It was the largest turtle anyone
had even seen. It's head was the size of
a 3 gallon water cooler and it lumbered
through the water with a cleaner fish attached
to its shell. The sheer bulk was unbelievable
and its shell had to be 5-6 feet in length.
After lunch, we drove
to a trail head at Lind Point and hiked
down to Honeymoon Beach. When we got there,
the beach was virtually deserted and we
dove right in to snorkel. The visibility
was not bad and there were tons of fish
around.
Dinner: Morgan's Mango
- slow and below par.
