The focus of the day was getting to Manly Beach. We got up and took the 9:30 ferry
to Manly. The trip took about 30 minutes and we landed at the wharf which is at the foot of the Corso. The Corso is the main shopping
district in Manly.
We walked through the surf shops to the beach. Even
at 10:30, it was pretty busy. There was a surf school
going on and large groups of kids were being instructed
in water safety. It was being run out of the Manly
Lifesaving Club.
We followed the paved walkway out of Manly to Cottege Bay. It is a more secluded bay with less beach. There were divers in the waters but
we don't know what they were seeing down there. Howard followed the trail up to a few lookouts and took some good pictures of the ocean.
On the way back we saw a very large cargo ship heading
out to sea. There was another one way out that was
working its way in. We relaxed during the heat of
the day and went out in the evening to grab dinner
at Doyle's. |
